It’s the holidays, and even though Black Friday and Cyber Monday are behind us, there are still two more weeks of shopping time before Christmas! If you have a beer lover in your life and are still struggling with what to get them, we are here to help. Last year we posted articles highlighting some 21 Great Gifts for Beer Lovers and 11 Awesome Gifts for Homebrewers, so check them out if you need inspiration.
This year we wanted to do things a bit different. Rather than curate a few gift ideas, we want to share with you some of our favorite websites for beer-themed gifts. By visiting these online shops you are certain to find that perfect something for any beer lover on your holiday shopping list. In fact, we highly recommend grabbing a few things for yourself while you’re shopping. After all, ’tis the season to treat yo self!
Six Shops For Great Beer Gifts
Hopcloth is a fantastic Etsy shop that first got our attention when their “craft beer: it’s not alcoholism, it’s a hobby” shirt took over Pinterest last year. We love those shirts and are even bigger fans of their “Drink Beer From Here” series, which offers versions in the shape of any U.S. state so that you can show some local love for your hometown craft beer scene. Sadly, Colorado is a bit lacking in the unique-shape department (Colorado is just so square!) so when we shop Hopcloth, we stick to their other fun shirts. Jeff loves his “Hop Heart” shirt, while I’m rocking a “Keep Hops Alive” ladies t-shirt. Hopcloth also sells great glassware, like the Hop Culture glasswear we used for the image at the top of this post. So visit Hopcloth to get them a few shirts, and make sure you snag a few stocking stuffers for yourself!
2. Beer Cap Maps
Does your beer lover collect bottle caps for some unknown project they’ve never quite started? (Guilty!) Help them properly show off their cap collection with a Beer Cap Map. Choose a country or a U.S state map, and display your beer cap collection with pride. You can also pick up a beer cap ornament set to add a little flair to your Christmas tree. There are lots of beer maps available out there, but we found that BeerCapMaps.com has the best selection of great country and state maps. Unfortunately, the popularity of their maps means that they aren’t able to guarantee Christmas delivery for new orders. Instead, they have a selection of great printable gift tags you tie to a few brews or a bottle opener to announce your gift is on the way. We’re sure that once they see what’s coming, they’ll agree cool gift is worth waiting for.
3. Craft Beer Hound*
We are big, big fans of Craft Beer Hound. Last year we had their Hops & Barley Scarf on our holiday list, and I’m thrilled to say that Santa brought me one! We love all their products: the beer cap collector shadow boxes, their great t-shirts and hats, beer soaps and candles, and so much more. But this year we’re most excited about the gift that keeps on giving: the CBH Beer Appreciation Club. Send your beer lover a monthly beer appreciation box, each month featuring a different style or theme. The box will contain a beer glass, coaster, stickers, and other surprise gifts. It’s a fun way to give a gift that will keep surprising them all year round!
Do you have a favorite craft beer style? Whether you like IPAs, sours, pilsners or any other variety, Inky Sweet has a t-shirt for you. Their shirts have a typographic motif that highlights all the styles of your favorite beer, or the many varieties of hops. They also offer a great knit Hops Head hat to keep your hop head’s head warm (say that five times fast!) and our favorite item – the Hops Head messenger bag.
As the name suggests, BeerGifts.com is a great one-stop-shop for beer gifts. Featuring beer gift baskets, homebrew kits, beer glasses, books about beer, beer apparel and more, you are certain to find a great gift for your beer lover here. They even offer a beer of the month club! You can shop by style, by price, by occasion or by the recipient. Not sure where to start? Check out their holiday-specific beer gifts, and browse from there.
6. Shop Their Favorite Brewery!
If you’re still not sure what to get for your beer lover, take a peek inside their beer fridge to discover their favorite breweries, then shop the brewery directly for some beer gear they’re sure to love. Most local breweries have merchandise for sale, and most large craft breweries offer online stores. After all, the next best thing to drinking your favorite beer is sporting all your favorite brewery’s gear.
Not sure where to start? Here are a few of our favorite brewery shops for inspiration:
- New Belgium Brewing’s Shop
- Oskar Blues Store
- Avery Brewing Co Store
- The Breckenridge Brewery Store
- Odell Brewing Gear
- Deschutes Brewery Store
- Dogfish Head Store
- Stone Brewing Store
- Cigar City Store
- Green Flash Gift Shop

* Update: It appears a few of the stores above (namely CraftBeerHound.com and InkySweet.com) are no longer operating since their websites are down. It’s a real bummer since we loved their gear. If we notice they return we’ll add their product links back to this article.
