We don’t do a lot of product reviews around here, but sometimes we get sent something pretty awesome and just need to share. That’s what happened recently when Joe Debicella, owner of GroovyGuyGifts.com, reached out to offer us some personalized merchandise from his online store. We received a personalized Growler Cooler, embroidered with our initial. The gift itself was really nice (some would say, groovy) but mostly we’re happy we discovered the site. There’s a lot of great items available at GroovyGuyGifts.com that we think would make awesome gifts for Father’s Day, wedding season, and beyond.
Our Groovy Guy Gifts Growler Cooler
We were pretty stoked to get this growler cooler. When we head to a friend’s house for a get-together it almost always involves a “BYOB” rule: The host provides food and fun, while guests are asked to bring their own beverage of choice. And as you know, our favorite drink is pretty much always fresh, local craft beer. Growlers are a great way to bring something to the gathering that we can enjoy and share, so we are getting a lot of use out of our Growler Cooler. In it we can pack one 64-ounce growler filled with craft beer, and still have just enough room for our flexible, reusable ice pack to keep our drink cold. The front zipper pocket was perfect for stashing our keys, IDs and some spare cash. The Growler Cooler kept our beer cool, looked nice, and best of all, kept our growler from rolling around on the floorboard of our car while in transit.
The only thing that would have made this Growler Cooler better is if it were just a bit bigger so we could stash a few more brews inside. If you’re not carrying a growler you can probably fit in a 6-pack of cans, but clearly, this is designed for the standard glass growler. So while it’s super convenient for transporting those growlers back and forth, if you’re not typically using a growler, this may not be the bag for you.
Bad News / Good News
So if you love the Growler Cooler we tested, we have some bummer news. It’s not currently available on the GroovyGuyGifts.com website. Womp womp. It may just be out of stock. However, they do have several other coolers that look just as awesome – if not awesomer – than the one we tested. In fact, these other coolers are bigger and more multifunctional, so we think they’d be even better suited for all your BYOB situations.
For a similar look, GroovyGuyGifts.com offers the Combat Cooler ($39.99) which can hold up to 12 bottles or 18 cans of your favorite beer. It features a larger pocket for storing your cash and koozies and can be embroidered with up to 3 initials. For hauling your growlers & then some you can also get the Better Off Drinking cooler ($29.99) which holds up to 24 cans in the main pocket, and still stash a pair of growlers in each of the 2 expandable side pockets. If you’re looking for a great gift for your favorite craft beer lover, either of these would be great. Toss in a few local brews for them and you’ve got yourself an even better gift.
