The Beer Now Conference is officially keeping it weird in 2020!
Austin, Texas is officially hosting the 2020 Beer Now Conference, taking place August 6 – 8. Austin is home to more than 40 breweries, brewpubs, and cideries so there will be plenty of great brews to enjoy as we gather to learn about the local beer scene and the larger beer industry as a whole. The conference agenda will once again feature beer industry speakers, breakout sessions, a trade show, and much more. Evenings will add more fun to the mix, with events that showcase the best local beers and breweries.
Colorado’s own Oskar Blues Brewery will be hosting a reception during one night of the conference. The Oskar Blues Brewery Austin has been brewing since June 2016. The 50,000 square-foot facility produces Oskar Blues flagships along with some Austin-only specialties. In addition to the brewery and taproom, they Oskar Blues Austin regularly features live music and BBQ… two of our favorite things! We’re looking forward to checking out this Austin-adaptation of a hometown favorite.
Conference Hotel
The 2020 Beer Now Conference will take place at the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin Hotel in downtown Austin. This host hotel is just a few blocks from the Texas State Capitol and is within walking distance to many drinking, dining, and entertainment options. Registered conference attendees can get a group rate on rooms during their stay.
Excursions
Attendees have the option join pre- and post-conference excursions to nearby towns beyond Austin. The pre-conference excursion begins on Wednesday, August 5 when participants will visit San Marcos for an overnight stay that includes local beer and a float down the San Marcos River.
As of now, details aren’t confirmed for the post-conference excursion, which is expected to kick off on Sunday, August 9. Conference organizers have committed to providing information before February 2020, so attendees can finalize travel plans.
Who Should Attend Beer Now, and Why?
The Beer Now Conference is oriented towards beer bloggers, writers, social media influencers, and those in the beer industry that communicate about beer. Industry personnel, especially those responsible for PR and marketing, are often in attendance as well. The conference offers attendees a chance to learn about industry news and trends, network with fellow beer enthusiast, and how to be better communicators on our website and social media outlets.
Formerly the Beer Bloggers & Writers Conference, the Beer Now Conference has been held annually since 2010. It changes locations each year to give participants an opportunity to explore new and exciting beer locations throughout the country.
On a Personal Note
We have been attending the Beer Now Conference since 2014. Since our first conference experience in San Diego, we’ve only missed attending once, and we truly regretted not being able to attend. As beer bloggers and self-proclaimed beer nerds, Beer Now has been an invaluable experience for us. We’ve one-of-a-kind experiences, made great friends, and perhaps most importantly, become better bloggers. The information we’ve taken away from the Beer Now Conference each year has helped us become confident as beer enthusiasts, advocates, and experts. It may not be evident in the photos we share of all the incredible people, places, and things we experience at Beer Now, but there’s actually a lot of learning happening. The value we get from the conferences is immeasurable. So to our friends who write about beer and work in the beer industry, consider coming to Beer Now in Austin. We would love nothing more than to share this experience with you.
