Hello September, it’s so wonderful to see you! This summer (which isn’t technically over yet, but we can pretend) has been one that we’re more than ready to put behind us. Between the pandemic, the civil unrest, and the wildfires, we spent most of the month at home, doomscrolling through the horrible news on our phones. Just the two of us. No exciting vacations. No fun beer festivals. We would say it was boring, but […]
Tonight at 6:05 p.m. Mountain Time, the Colorado Rockies will throw their first official pitch in Coors Field to kick off the 2020 season. We Love Opening Day at Coors Field For most of the last decade, we’ve considered at the Rockies Home Opener as a bit of a holiday. Usually, the game falls on a Friday afternoon in early April. We both take the day off work and take the Light Rail down to […]
Hello, friends. Remember us? It’s been awfully quiet here on our little corner of the internet. Has it really been two months? To be clear, we didn’t plan on taking a break. But with so much happening, it seemed like a good idea to take a big step back and accept the unexpected sabbatical. Besides, there are just some things in life more important than beer. Like health, safety, equality, and justice. You know, all […]
The announcement we all expected but nobody wanted to hear arrived today. The Brewer’s Association has confirmed that the 2020 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) will take place online. The event, which was scheduled for September 24-26 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, will now be a virtual event held October 16-17.
The Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) is celebrating their 25 “beerthday” this weekend, and you’re invited to the party!
Checking In Hi friends, how is everyone doing? No, seriously… how are you? Are you hanging in there? We know that it’s a weird time in the world and we sincerely hope that you are doing well. Us? We’re doing okay, and really can’t complain too much, even though we do it anyway. For us, waking up each day is like pulling the lever of a slot machine and seeing which random lineup of emotions […]
I’ve written and rewritten this post in my head every day this week, but always got stuck on how to start it out. It feels disingenuous to write the same old lighthearted beer stories. Yet, it feels out of character for us to get too serious. But you know what? These are serious times, so be warned – this shit may get real. We normally like to tell the stories of the fun we’re having, […]
Last night we were guests at Ales, Apps, & Barrels of Fun, and as the name suggests, we had a barrel full of fun! We’ve been fans of this event, held annually at the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, since it’s inception in 2018. This night of adults-only fun at the Children’s Museum is truly one of our favorite events of the year! And what’s not to love? They encourage you to let […]
‘Sup, Oskar Blues? As we welcomed in a new year and kicked off a new decade, we decided to put some thought into where we wanted to lift our first pints of 2020. In honor of beginnings, new and old, it only seemed fitting that we make our first beer purchase of 2020 at Oskar Blues Brewery’s Tasty Weasel taproom in Longmont.
Happy 2020 everyone! We hope you had a wonderful, fun, and relaxing holiday season. We sure did… with emphasis on the relaxing part. Mid-week holidays kept us from doing anything too exciting, so we enjoyed doing nothing over the holidays. Nada. We didn’t even go out and make a spectacle of ourselves for New Year’s Eve. Instead, we watched the ball drop in NYC from our couch, and we were eye-shut long before midnight in […]
2019 has been filled with great brews and big beer news, but today we’re not here for that. In fact, we’ve taken much of this month off from Bottle Makes Three to celebrate the season. We hope you’ve had a chance to slow down and enjoy the holidays with your friends and family, too. However, on this day before Christmas, we wanted to take a quick moment to thank you for supporting us and wish […]
