The Collaboration Fest took place last weekend and we think this year’s fest was the best yet! In its 5th year, the Collaboration Fest has already emerged as one of our most anticipated beer festivals of the year. Attending the festival is the perfect way to kick off Colorado Craft Beer Week.
Last week was a very good week for WeldWerks Truth be told, the last few years have gone pretty well for WeldWerks Brewing Company. Considering the success and name recognition that this Greeley-based brewery has achieved in just three years, they definitely don’t have anything to complain about. But even by those standards, last week was particularly awesome.
The wait is finally over. Thirsty Monk Denver opened their doors to the public yesterday. We are so happy to welcome them to our local craft beer scene! Thirsty Monk arrives in Denver with a strong reputation as a brewer of Belgian-Rooted Modern Ales and operator of world-recognized craft beer bars. Founded in 2008 in Asheville, North Carolina, Thirsty Monk currently operates four locations in Asheville. More recently they expanded to add Portland, Oregon’s Bazi […]
It took longer than we expected, but we are back! Well, if we’re being honest, we’re back-ish. We have wrapped up most of the things that have kept us so overwhelmed and busy the past few months, which is great. Unfortunately, we still haven’t been anywhere or done anything, so there’s not a lot to share…. yet. That all changes tonight, when we finally get back out there, visit some breweries, and get back to […]
Howdy friends. It’s been a while, so we thought we should reassure everyone that we’re still alive. Not only that, but we’re still alive and drinking! We just haven’t been able to make time to write about it for quite some time. In fact, we haven’t gotten out nearly enough the last few weeks. It sucks, but the upside is that we’ve finally cleared out a lot of beer in our beer fridge. Here’s some […]
Calling all spirit sippers, cocktail connoisseurs, and whiskey worshipers! The Colorado Distillers Guild and Two Parts are presenting the first ever Hearts & Trails Spirits Festival this Saturday, February 24 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This unique tasting event will highlight more than 40 of the state’s finest spirit artisans, all under one roof at Mile High Station in Denver.
Hoppy Friday craft beer fans! Friday night is when we always end up visiting our local bottle shop. With the work week finally over, we like to pick up a few great brews to enjoy over the weekend. If that sounds familiar and you’re going to be browsing the beer cooler for something good, check out the new canned beer offering from Denver’s Station 26 Brewing Company: Juicy Banger IPA. Since it’s debut in 2014, Station […]
Happy February! This may be a short month, but it’s packed full of fun times. We get to spend a day paying attention to groundhogs, shower our true love with greeting cards and flowers, and we even get to celebrate the birth of one of your favorite Bottle Makes Three folks! But best of all, we also get to celebrate Stout Month! With big roasted malts and full bodies, February is the perfect month to indulge […]
Update: This event is sold out. Hopefully, you took our advice and got your tickets while they were available! Adulting is hard. Getting up and going to work 5-days a week can be a real drag. Paying bills, doing laundry, dealing with other adults… it’s all just a bit much, ya know? Sure, we have the freedom to drink beer and stay up late and do mostly whatever we want. But is it really a […]
The 5th Annual Collaboration Beer Fest is returning to downtown Denver on Saturday, March 31. More than just a beer festival, the Collaboration Fest is a fun celebration of the unique camaraderie that craft breweries share. It’s one of our most anticipated festivals each year and one that we don’t think you should miss!
If you’ve ever driven west on Interstate 70 from Denver to Evergreen, you’ve certainly seen the sign for El Rancho. We’ve certainly driven past it dozens of times. But if you’ve seen that sign and thought that El Rancho was just another small mountain town, boy do we have news for you. Located just off I-70 at Exit 251, El Rancho isn’t a town at all. El Rancho is a destination; a part of Colorado […]
Hellooo friends of Bottle Makes Three! Yes, it’s been a while. We know we’ve been bad beer bloggers. We took some time off around the holidays, not by choice really, but because we were just so busy. But today we’re back, and we are excited to say that we’re more energized than ever! We can’t wait to get back to sharing our beer adventures! In fact, we just visited a “new to us” brewery this weekend, Evergreen […]
Photographer Dustin Hall brings the art of photography and the art of brewing together in his new book, Discovering Colorado Breweries. In this 232-page coffee table book you will find the stunning photographs Hall has taken at over 70 Colorado craft breweries. While the book doesn’t get released until next month, we think just the promise of this book would make a great holiday gift for any Colorado craft beer lover!
On Saturday, December 9, Living the Dream Brewing Co is hosting their first barrel aged beer event. At the 1st Annual Barrel & Brews they will be releasing four barrel-aged beers “In the Backwoods” at Living the Dream. But wait… there’s more! In addition to the great barrel releases from Living the Dream, enjoy special chocolate pairings from the Chocolate Therapist. Each chocolate has been specially designed to complement the four barrel-aged beers.
Happy Repeal Day! Today marks an important day in American history for all of you fellow libation lovers out three. It was on this day 84 years ago that prohibition was finally repealed after 13 long, dry years. Prohibition was a dark time for the country, and we don’t say that just because we like booze. The 18th Amendment, which was ratified on January 29, 1919, and took effect in early 1920, prohibited the manufacturing, transportation and sale […]
