Last night I was fortunate enough to attend a Rogue Ales beer dinner at The Kitchen. It was incredible. The food was excellent, the beer was outstanding, and the company I dined with would have only been better if Chris could have attended. Chris had to work late, so dang it, I guess it was my responsibility to represent Bottle Makes Three at this beer dinner. I definitely got the better end of that deal. Just […]
If you are looking for something fun and unique to do this weekend, there is still time to get your tickets to The Pressed Conference.
Last Saturday Chris and I and several friends stopped by Laws Whiskey House to celebrate the launch of their new Wheat Whiskey. Now we don’t pretend to know much about whiskey, but we know what we like, and this was some good stuff. At the release party we enjoyed whiskey flights, a really fantastic whiskey cocktail, and received a tour of the distillery. It was the first open house event of the year for Laws […]
Hey Colorado beer lovers! If you thought St. Patrick’s Day was your only excuse to drink beer this month, you were way wrong. Today begins a week of amazing craft beer events, as we kick off Colorado Craft Beer Week.
Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has been all over the news over the past 24 hours. Some of the news has been good (for them) while some, not so much. But hey, there’s no such thing as bad press, right? So sit back, pop open a fizzy yellow beverage (if you must) and read all about the happenings over in the boardrooms at AB-InBev.
Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) in the news for acquiring several craft breweries recently, but their newest acquisition offer has a much larger target: SABMiller. Yesterday Anheuser-Busch InBev launched an effort to acquire SABMiller, a move that if approved would create a brewing behemoth that would dominate nearly a third of the worldwide beer market.
In just a few months the Great American Beer Festival (GABF) will be back in Denver, bringing together the largest collection of U.S. brewers and beers for a private competition and public tasting. This year’s festival will take place September 24 through September 26, 2015, at the Colorado Convention Center. Mark your calendars now, and start making plans to be at the fest.
On Tuesday, Jameson Irish Whiskey announced that they are expanding their collaboration program, Drinking Buddies, to include five American craft breweries. One of the collaborations we can expect to see is with Great Divide Brewing Co, who will be brewing The Smoothness, a dark lager aged in Jameson barrels. We’re really excited to try these Jameson-barrel aged beers and to watch the video series that is going to document the story of each of the […]
Last month we put our day off for President’s Day to good use. February 16 was a cold and snowy day, but it was also the day that Avery Brewing Co celebrated the grand opening of their new brewery facility in Boulder/Gunbarrel. We couldn’t think of a better way to enjoy our day off work, so despite the weather, we hit the road to Boulder, and set our navigation for the new & improved Avery […]
Call it sour grapes, but here in Denver, we’re not feeling the Super Bowl spirit this year. Since our Broncos got kicked out of the playoffs embarrassingly early, we’re still feeling a little deflated. [Insert your own clever New England #deflategate pun here.]
