We wanted to post an update to the beer news we shared back in May about the ongoing battle to bring full-strength beer to Colorado grocery stores.

Hey there. Yeah, we know, it’s been a while. It’s all very awkward to start writing again when we’ve been clearly negligent for several weeks…. or months. We won’t bore you with the same old stale excuses, but suffice it to say that major work projects and other happenings have just occupied all our time. In fact, we were gone so long that even our own beer blog didn’t recognize us… and we spent several […]
The last day of the 2016 session at the Colorado House saw the passage of a historic bill that may expand liquor sales in Colorado grocery stores. Best of all, this new bill is said to have the support of local liquor store owners and craft beer makers.
The Brewers Association released their annual growth figures last week, announcing that once again in 2015 craft brewers continue to experience double-digit market growth. Our news feeds were quick to fill up with articles about the beer industry growth and the continued success of craft breweries nationwide. But then, right on time, an all too familiar topic reared its ugly head: is this just another sign that the “beer bubble” is ready to burst?
This morning it was announced that Constellation Brands has reached an agreement to purchase Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits. This will bring a large craft beer product to the Constellation Brands portfolio. Currently Constellation Brands owns beers such as Corona and Modelo, as well as wine and spirits, including Robert Mondavi and Svedka Vodka. Now before you wonder how yet another craft beer company can sell out to big business, consider this: Constellation Brands is […]
Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) has been all over the news over the past 24 hours. Some of the news has been good (for them) while some, not so much. But hey, there’s no such thing as bad press, right? So sit back, pop open a fizzy yellow beverage (if you must) and read all about the happenings over in the boardrooms at AB-InBev.
The 2015 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) ended a few days ago, and we’re finally back to tell you all about it! While we gather our thoughts and notes to bring you some proper recaps, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate all the Colorado breweries who received a medal at this year’s GABF competition.
Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) in the news for acquiring several craft breweries recently, but their newest acquisition offer has a much larger target: SABMiller. Yesterday Anheuser-Busch InBev launched an effort to acquire SABMiller, a move that if approved would create a brewing behemoth that would dominate nearly a third of the worldwide beer market.
TGIF y’all! We don’t know about you, but we’re so ready to start this weekend. The cooler weather we experienced mid-week is a reminder that we’re only guaranteed a few more hot summer weekends, so it’s time to take advantage of them while we can. For us that means some hiking, spending some quality time in the backyard, and taking advantage of sitting on a sunny patio somewhere to enjoy some delicious craft beers.
There was a big announcement from New Belgium Brewing yesterday. Christine Perich has been named New Belgium’s new CEO, replacing brewery co-founder Kim Jordan. Perich, who had been the company’s COO and President, now takes over the full day-to-day company operations. Perich has been with New Belgium since 2000 and was instrumental in transitioning the company into a 100% employee-owned company back in 2013. Kim Jordan will remain with New Belgium as the Executive Chair […]
