Our first stop on our spontaneous Saturday brewery-crawl was Del Norte Brewing. To decide where our next stop would be, we just looked at the next closest brewery that we had never visited before. We drove around a while before I could get my iPhone to cooperate with our search, but luckily we wandered right towards Wits End Brewing Company. We have heard a lot about Wits End Brewing, most recently on American Craft Beer Radio, but […]
Update: Del Norte closed their brewery in December 2012. It was a shocker, as they seemed to be doing well and were pretty widely distributed around Colorado. We’ll miss our Cincos and Mañanas, but we’ll always have our memories. Adios amigos. This weekend we came to a realization. If we’re going to accomplish our goal of visiting all the breweries in Colorado in a year, we really need to get moving. One stop a weekend isn’t going […]
Last night we were driving around in an unfamiliar neighborhood, wondering where to go for dinner. Chain restaurants all around, nothing was really enticing us to eat. It was getting later and later, so heading towards home we finally saw the sign. Specifically, we saw the bright white and red sign for The Old Mill Brewery & Grill in downtown Littleton. Like moths to a flame, we headed towards the light and decided to try […]
We weren’t planning on drinking away our Sunday afternoon. We went out to run a few errands and planned to spend the afternoon at home, getting ready for the week ahead. We had the best of intentions. But you know what? We have the best time when we just give up on our plans and go with the flow. It’s sort of a habit of ours, and that’s exactly what happened this particular Sunday.
Beer for a good cause. What could be a better reason to drink? (As if you even needed a reason…)
This month’s weather has been a gift from Mother Nature. Usually, March is the snowiest month of the year in Colorado. So far this month we haven’t seen a single flake in the Denver metro area. Instead, we’ve enjoyed temperatures in the mid-70s F. Without a calendar, I would swear it’s actually May. All this warm weather makes us crave a cold beer and backyard barbecue. Fortunately, we knew just where to go to get […]
Happy “You Survived St. Patrick’s Day” Day! Are you recovered from all your holiday shenanigans? We’re mostly recovered, but it was definitely touch-and-go for a bit. We spent a day celebrating the holiday with our Colorado Parrot Head Club friends. Our group participated in the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade, so the celebration started early and continued all day long! We spent the night at a Denver hotel so we could safely imbibe with a […]
It was only after a long day of day drinking that we made our way to C.B. & Potts Highlands Ranch. As members of the Colorado Parrot Head Club, we spent the day working on our St. Patrick’s Day parade float. (It’s amazing, by the way, but that’s beside the point.) As everyone knows, you can’t build a St. Patrick’s Day float without beer, so we had several over the course of the day. That’s why when we […]
I’ll admit right away that our visit to Dry Dock Brewing Co in Aurora was really sort of an accident. We actually had to make a run to The Brew Hut for some homebrewing supplies, and being that Dry Dock is attached to The Brew Hut it seems almost rude to not pop in for a pint.
We weren’t supposed to end up at Oskar Blues Brewery in Longmont. It wasn’t on our agenda when we left the house to pick up our good friends, Shawn and Jessica. We were going to grab a quick breakfast and then all head up to Nederland for the crazy outdoor celebration/drink-fest knows as Frozen Dead Guy Days. We would all spend the day outside, celebrating the dead dude that’s been kept on dry ice in […]
Hi, we’re Jeff and Chris. Welcome to Bottle Makes Three! Here’s what you need to know about us: We love each other, we love beer, and we love Colorado. We realize how extremely fortunate we are to be living in beautiful, beer-loving paradise. We have amazing breweries and brewpubs all over the state, with new ones opening all the time. In the summer months, it’s possible to visit a different beer festival nearly every weekend. As […]
