Is It Miller Time for Anheuser-Busch InBev?

Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev) in the news for acquiring several craft breweries recently, but their newest acquisition offer has a much larger target: SABMiller. Yesterday Anheuser-Busch InBev launched an effort to acquire SABMiller, a move that if approved would create a brewing behemoth that would dominate nearly a third of the worldwide beer market.

Anheuser-Busch to buy Washington’s Elysian Brewing

Anheuser-Busch InBev announced today that they’re acquiring another craft brewery. Seattle’s Elysian Brewing Co is their latest acquisition, making them the fourth craft acquisition in the past 5 years. While specifics of the deal weren’t disclosed, the terms of the deal include the Elysian Brewery as well as their four Seattle-area brewpubs.

On Saturday, January 3rd Jeff and I ventured into the belly of the beast: We embarked on the Budweiser Tour at Anheuser-Busch in Fort Collins. We know what you’re thinking and, yes, we normally prefer our brewery quite a bit craftier. But one day we hope to succeed at visiting every brewery in Colorado, and every brewery includes the big ones. We decided on a whim to scratch this one off our list.
