The 35th annual Great American Beer Festival (GABF) wrapped up on Saturday evening after yet another fun and successful event. We’ve had a full two days to recover from attending the fest, so we’ll be bringing you several stories recapping the event over the next several days. The U.S. Open Beer Championship took place this past weekend and Colorado breweries brought home a total of 19 medals. This international competition accepted more than 4000 beers from more than 20 countries across the globe, including submissions from both professional breweries and award-winning home-brewers. Ballast Point Brewing of San Diego, California was named the Grand National Champion. The 2015 Best of Craft Beer awards were announced yesterday, and River North Brewery in Denver was named their 2015 Brewery of the Year. The Best of Craft Beer Awards touts itself as “America’s Newest Craft Beer Contest” and was created to celebrate and promote the best in Craft Brewing.
