Great Beer and Adventure at Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project

On Saturday May 20, the Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project opened in the Denver Santa Fe Arts District. Owners Andrew Moore (formerly of 105 West Brewing Co) and Ben Gettinger had promised a brewery that would specialize in internationally inspired beers, and we would say they nailed it. Our visit to Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project We arrived at Intrepid Sojourner Beer Project on the afternoon of their grand opening. They were packed with thirsty craft beer lovers, ready […]

10 Ingredients for a Great Brewery Taproom

You may be shocked to hear this, but we have visited a lot of breweries. Like, a lot. Okay, so maybe the fact that we love beer and breweries isn’t exactly our best kept secret. But it could surprise you to know that we love visiting breweries for much more than just beer. Truth be told, we love the whole experience of visiting a great brewery taproom. We enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, the fun people, and making […]

Creede Brewing Company brings the Wild West to North Denver

Last week we spent a lazy Sunday afternoon north of downtown Denver searching for some fun and some great craft beer. Our first stop was at Broken Shovels Farm, which we wrote about last week. All that time hanging out with the barnyard animals made us thirsty, so after the farm we decided to visit two craft breweries that we hadn’t previously visited: Creede Brewing Company and Beer By Design. Our first stop was to […]

Dead Hippie Brewing Now Open in Sheridan

Dead Hippie Brewing quietly opened their doors and started serving pints last weekend. How many breweries does that give us now? Who the heck knows, we’ve totally given up on keeping track. Whatever the number, we’re always happy to welcome a new craft establishment to the scene! This newest neighborhood spot officially unlocked their doors on Thursday, October 22, and we stopped by their first Saturday to check them out. We even ran into a few of […]

Today the road trip continues to Buena Vista, home of Eddyline Restaurant & Brewery… so let’s get to it! Eddyline Restaurant We were only in Buena Vista […]

Inside the Anheuser-Busch Brewery

On Saturday January 3rd Jeff and I ventured into the belly of the beast: We embarked on the Budweiser Tour at Anheuser-Busch in Fort Collins. We know what you’re thinking and, yes, we normally prefer our brewery quite a bit craftier. But one day we hope to succeed at visiting every brewery in Colorado, and every brewery includes the big ones. We decided on a whim to scratch this one off our list. Despite not being a big […]

Visiting Mockery Brewing Company

Last weekend Denver welcomed a new member to the local craft brewery scene: Mockery Brewing Co. We stopped by the new brewery on Sunday, when we knew things would be a bit more subdued than their Grand Opening a few nights before. Mockery Brewing is just off Brighton Boulevard in the RiNo neighborhood, a stone’s throw from The Source, home of Crooked Stave, and adjacent to the construction project that will soon become Great Divide Brewing’s new location. We can […]

Mockery Brewing Opens in Denver

River North (RiNo) has become the go-to spot to grab some great craft beers in Denver, and today a new brewery joined the already happening (hoppening?) beer scene. Mockery Brewing Co opened their doors today, just in time for First Friday in RiNo. They’re located at 3501 Delgany Street, very near the future site of Great Divide’s new brewery and across the street from The Source, home of Crooked Stave Artisan Beers.

Red Leg Brewing, Serving Those Who Served

It’s awful how sometimes the silly commitments we make (i.e.: work) keeps us from our true passion (i.e.: beer.)  That’s the only excuse we have for taking so long to recognize a brewery we visited a few months ago that really deserved to be featured long before now:  Red Leg Brewing Company. Red Leg Brewing celebrated their 1st anniversary last Friday, on the 4th of July.  It’s fitting that this great brewery down in Colorado […]

Bald Mountain and Twisted Pine

So if there is one downfall to drinking a lot of good craft beer, it has to be the little extra poundage it can add to your midsection if you’re not careful.  Yep, the good old beer belly.   It’s a never-ending battle to be able to consume lots of yummy craft beers, without causing too much damage on the scale.  This is why when we planned a little brewery excursion to Boulder on Sunday July […]

Behind the Scenes at CB and Potts

We’ve visited CB and Potts a lot lately.  After all, we play kickball on Thursday nights near the Highlands Ranch CB and Potts location, and they offered us great beer deals for our post-game celebrations.  I have to say, they’ve really won us over.  Originally we sort of wrote this off as another chain restaurant that brews beer that isn’t half-bad for the suburban masses.   We can admit now, we were too quick to […]

Breckenridge Brewery 22nd Anniversary Party

Breckenridge Brewery turned 22 this weekend, and we were there to help them celebrate.  And by “help them celebrate” I mean drink their beer, eat their food, and generally enjoy wandering around the brewery like we were some sort of VIPs.  This is the party of the summer, and we haven’t missed one yet.  Okay, that’s a total lie.  We never even knew about this party until our friend Jessica heard about it last year.  But since […]

Renegade Brewing 1st Anniversary Party

After finishing our Challenge Nation race yesterday, we were ready to party!   Lucky for us there was a celebration in progress at nearby Renegade Brewing Company.  It was Renegade’s 1st Anniversary party, and being such big fans of this brewery, we weren’t going to miss it! It seems like Renegade Brewing has made lots of fans over their first year, because this party was packed full of people celebrating this favorite neighborhood brewery.  Renegade opened […]

I Know This Much is TRVE

What do you get when you mix great beer and heavy metal, and put it all in a super-cool new taproom on South Broadway? You get TRVE Brewing, one of Denver’s newest breweries. TRVE Brewing (which is pronounced “True” by the way) opened on Wednesday June 27th. We stopped by on the first Friday after they opened to check them out. Inside TRVE Brewing TRVE Brewing has a decent sized taproom, but the brewery itself […]

Sunday Funday in Longmont at Pumphouse Brewery & Left Hand Brewing

After our G’Knight Ride, we spent the night in Longmont. Partially this was because we knew we’d be drinking and wanted to be responsible.  But it was also so we could fit in a few more brewery stops before we made the trek back home. It’s a good thing we stayed too, because someone left his debit card at the Tasty Weasel last night – DOH! Given that we now had a good excuse to […]
