The 2019 Collaboration Fest is coming to Denver on March 16! This is the 6th year of this festival, celebrating Colorado craft beer and their camaraderie with each other, and brewers near and far. More than 200 craft breweries are making new collaboration beers for this event, including all five of our local neighborhood Castle Rock breweries. We crashed their Castle Rock collaboration brew day recently and can’t wait to taste what “the Rock” brewers […]
We are continuing our sneak peek at the beers available at the upcoming Collaboration Festival. The Collaboration Fest returns to Denver for their 4th year on Saturday, March 25. With featuring more than 150 breweries working together (yay teamwork!) to brew more than 100 beers, the Collaboration Fest has long been a favorite annual beer festival of ours. Most of the beers at the fest are available just once, making this one of the most […]
The Collaboration Festival is returning to Denver for their 4th year on Saturday, March 25th. This is one of our favorite annual festivals because when great breweries come together to collaborate on a brew, you’re certain to get some very special and unique beers. This year the Collaboration Fest features more 100 beers from over 150 breweries, each made by two or more breweries partnering together. The collaborations often include Colorado breweries, but also feature […]
If you’re looking for a reason to get rye-led up this month, we have just the event for you. The Denver Rye Fest returns for their 3rd year on Saturday, March 18. The festival features an awesome collection of Denver-area breweries pouring some supryesingly tasty brews. The Denver Rye Fest offers incredible beer, music, and hopefully some rye-inspired puns much more creative than ours. In short, it’s going to all-ryete! We joined Paul Webster at […]
Synergy (noun): A state in which two or more things work together in a particularly fruitful way that produces an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects. Expressed also as “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” It’s no surprise that most beer drinkers enjoy whiskey and vice versa. A shot of whiskey with a beer chaser is such a common combo, it even has its own name: the Boilermaker. […]
This year New Belgium Brewing is celebrating their 25th anniversary. Can you even believe that? We’re pretty sure there is a joke in there about still calling them “New” Belgium after all these years. Clearly, they’re one of the old-timers in the craft beer scene. Still, we respect New Belgium Brewing too much to take this accomplishment lightly. After all, a hefty portion of today’s craft breweries wasn’t even a dream 25 years ago. Many […]
Recently the fine folks at Jameson Irish Whiskey announced the newest partners in their Drinking Buddies program. As part of their Drinking Buddies collaboration, five American breweries were invited to tour the Jameson distillery in Ireland, and each was sent home with six empty Jameson Irish Whiskey barrels. The barrels would be used to age a unique, limited edition craft beer.
On Tuesday, Jameson Irish Whiskey announced that they are expanding their collaboration program, Drinking Buddies, to include five American craft breweries. One of the collaborations we can expect to see is with Great Divide Brewing Co, who will be brewing The Smoothness, a dark lager aged in Jameson barrels. We’re really excited to try these Jameson-barrel aged beers and to watch the video series that is going to document the story of each of the […]
