Hello to 2019 and Goodbye to 3.2 Beer

Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone! Tonight as we ring in a new year, we’ll also be bidding farewell to an 85-year Colorado tradition – 3.2 beer. Beginning January 1, 2019 retailers across the state who previously only sold 3.2 beer will be stocking the full-strength stuff. Today we’re going to look back at how we got here, and look ahead at what this change means for independent liquor stores and craft beer makers.

Colorado Breweries Win 28 Awards At 2018 World Beer Cup

Colorado craft beer scored big at the 2018 World Beer Cup. At the award ceremony held in Nashville last night, 28 World Beer Cup awards were given to Colorado breweries, including 7 golds medals. Winners came from cities throughout the state and included several returning champs plus many first-time winners. And while Colorado received 4 fewer awards than they did at the last World Beer Cup, 28 is an incredible accomplishment considering this year’s competition […]

Exploring Evergreen and Evergreen Brewery

Hellooo friends of Bottle Makes Three!  Yes, it’s been a while. We know we’ve been bad beer bloggers. We can’t wait to get back to sharing our beer adventures! In fact, we just visited a “new to us” brewery this weekend, Evergreen […]

5 (More) Boulder Breweries Worth A Visit

One of the best things about living in central Colorado is that we can point the car in almost any direction, and find a fun day trip at a little city or town an hour or two away. So this past weekend that’s exactly what we did. We hadn’t been to Boulder in some time, so we directed our Jeep towards the Flatirons for a day of exploration. Boulder is a fun city with a whole personality […]

Colorado House Passes Bill Expanding Grocery Store Liquor and Beer Sales

Best of all, this new bill is said to have the support local liquor store owners and craft beer makers. Senate Bill 197 would allow grocery stores and major retailers like Target and Walmart to slowly obtain additional licenses to sell liquor, wine, and full-strength beer over the […]

Starting The Year with Odd Beers: Odd13 Brewing Inc

Hi there… remember us? Yes, we know it’s been a while. Hell if you want to be technical, we haven’t posted since last year! All joking aside, December was a little rough for us, so we decided we needed a sabbatical until the new year. Then when New Year’s Day came and went, we just needed a little more time to get motivated. Now we’re halfway through January and wondering where the heck the time has […]

Escaping Reality at FERMÆNTRA

I know it seems like all we do is visit great breweries and drink craft beer. If only that were true. In reality we both work totally beer-free desk jobs Monday through Friday. We sit at our computers all day long, trying to solve problems and put out figurative fires for our employers, all without a single craft beverage in sight. To be honest we both really enjoy our day jobs, at least most of the time. […]

Left Hand’s new Introvert Session IPA

The weather in Colorado has been a bit frightful lately. The past few weeks have been fairly Seattle-like, as cloudy days and chilly rain has preempted our normal warm, sunny Colorado weather. But don’t let the forecast fool you, spring has sprung, and summer is just around the corner. Summer brings with it the promise of long sunny days, outdoor fun and enjoying plenty of great craft beers. Session beers, or beers with an ABV of […]
