Today marks the first day of American Craft Beer Week (ACBW)! From May 14-20 we celebrate the more than 6300 small and independent brewers in America. This is the 13th consecutive year that CraftBeer.com, the Brewers Association’s website for beer lovers, has presented this event. All week beer enthusiasts can take part in special ACBW events including exclusive brewery tours, special beer releases, beer and food pairings, tap takeovers and more.
Hoppy Friday craft beer fans! Friday night is when we always end up visiting our local bottle shop. With the work week finally over, we like to pick up a few great brews to enjoy over the weekend. If that sounds familiar and you’re going to be browsing the beer cooler for something good, check out the new canned beer offering from Denver’s Station 26 Brewing Company: Juicy Banger IPA. Since it’s debut in 2014, Station […]
One week before America celebrates Independence Day, the Brewers Association has announced their own declaration of independence. In a press release yesterday the Brewers Association, the not-for-profit small and independent craft brewers trade group, revealed the launch of their independent craft brewer seal. This new seal will help consumers better identify beers which are certified as being made by small, independent craft brewers. About the Independent Craft Brewer Seal The independent craft brewer seal features an iconic beer […]
The Brewers Association released their annual growth figures last week, announcing that once again in 2015 craft brewers continue to experience double-digit market growth. Our news feeds were quick to fill up with articles about the beer industry growth and the continued success of craft breweries nationwide. But then, right on time, an all too familiar topic reared its ugly head: is this just another sign that the “beer bubble” is ready to burst?
For those of you paying attention, it’s been a few weeks since we posted anything substantial on Bottle Makes Three. A variety of things have stood in the way of our writing. You can chalk a lot of it up to the typical “busy time of the year” excuse I make each fall because these last few months of each calendar year do get pretty stressful at work. But beyond that, I just have been […]
The Brewers Association released their annual list of the top 50 breweries, craft and overall, based on sales figures from 2014. Craft breweries continued to grow over the past year, and 42 of the 50 top-selling breweries overall were craft breweries.
So if there is one downfall to drinking a lot of good craft beer, it has to be the little extra poundage it can add to your midsection if you’re not careful. Yep, the good old beer belly. It’s a never-ending battle to be able to consume lots of yummy craft beers, without causing too much damage on the scale. This is why when we planned a little brewery excursion to Boulder on Sunday, July […]
On Saturday, June 29 we stopped by to help celebrate the second anniversary of one of our favorite Denver breweries, Renegade Brewing. And why not throw a party, because Renegade has a lot to celebrate! After just two years you can now find three Renegade favorites in cans at many area liquor stores, and you can visit their new location, Renegade Publik House, for several great craft beers and some pizza. Business is booming, and […]
I’ve known about Bull & Bush Pub and Brewery for years, but not only have we never visited, I hadn’t even driven been by the place. It’s kind of off the beaten path in Cherry Creek. Maybe they like it that way, so that only those smart enough to come looking will find this hidden treasure of a pub. It’s certainly not a newcomer to the scene, as Bull & Bush Pub has been around […]
Beer for a good cause. What could be a better reason to drink? (As if you even needed a reason…)
Happy “You Survived St. Patrick’s Day” Day! Are you recovered from all your holiday shenanigans? We’re mostly recovered, but it was definitely touch-and-go for a bit. We spent a day celebrating the holiday with our Colorado Parrot Head Club friends. Our group participated in the Denver St. Patrick’s Day Parade, so the celebration started early and continued all day long! We spent the night at a Denver hotel so we could safely imbibe with a […]
