TGIF! There is probably no Friday as eagerly anticipated as the first Friday after the holiday season. After all, it was back to work this week. No more holiday parties or days off. It’s back to the grind, and even with a short week, Friday couldn’t come fast enough. What better way to celebrate the first Friday of a new year then by trying out a whole new happy hour spot? Enter, Black Shirt Brewing.
In German, the word means “cheers” or “bottoms up!’ and is delivered as a toast to wish good health to one’s drinking companions. In Denver, Prost now has a second meaning, as a place to visit when you want to enjoy some delicious, authentic German beer. We joined Prost Brewing for their grand opening celebration on August 23rd and learned a little about this new brewery and what makes them stand out from the rest.
TGIF, Fellow Denverites This was the kind of week that felt so long when work ended on Friday we were ready to get drinks in our bellies as quickly as possible! Wanting a good, cold, craft beer, we decided to find the nearest brewery to our offices in downtown Denver. Fortunately, with so many great Denver breweries we were able to have happy hour at two: Denver Beer Co and Hogshead Brewery.
Breckenridge Brewery turned 22 this weekend, and we were there to help them celebrate. And by “help them celebrate” I mean drink their beer, eat their food, and generally enjoy wandering around the brewery like we were some sort of VIPs. After finishing our Challenge Nation race yesterday, we were ready to party! Lucky for us there was a celebration in progress at nearby Renegade Brewing Company. It was Renegade’s 1st Anniversary party, and being such big fans of this brewery, we weren’t going to miss it!
On Saturday, June 30, we did something fun that didn’t even involve a brewery. Can you even believe it? We teamed up with our friends Becky and Scott (Rascal) and participated in Challenge Nation Denver, an urban adventure race.
What do you get when you mix great beer and heavy metal and put it all in a super-cool new taproom on South Broadway? You get TRVE Brewing, one of Denver’s newest breweries. TRVE Brewing (which is pronounced “True” by the way) opened on Wednesday, June 27th. We stopped by on the first Friday after they opened to check them out.
River North Brewery is one of Denver’s newest breweries, and when we visited on a Saturday afternoon they proved to be one of the friendliest as well.
Lowry Beer Garden opened last week, and we couldn’t wait to get there to check it out! Early reviews and teaser photos had us really excited about this place. Who doesn’t love a beer garden, right?
