Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone! Tonight as we ring in a new year, we’ll also be bidding farewell to an 85-year Colorado tradition – 3.2 beer. Beginning January 1, 2019 retailers across the state who previously only sold 3.2 beer will be stocking the full-strength stuff. Today we’re going to look back at how we got here, and look ahead at what this change means for independent liquor stores and craft beer makers.

The last day of the 2016 session at the Colorado House saw the passage of a historic bill that may expand liquor sales in Colorado grocery stores. Best of all, this new bill is said to have the support of local liquor store owners and craft beer makers.
